Pamela Curran Smith Celebrates the Polish-American Police Association’s 60th Anniversary

SCHILLER PARK - On Friday, May 3rd, the Polish-American Police Association (P.A.P.A.) celebrated the organization’s 60th Anniversary at Allegra Banquets in Schiller Park. The banquet featured PAPA honoring seven law enforcement officers as the organization’s “Law Enforcement Persons of the Year.” Two of the law enforcement honorees were award posthumously, including longtime PAPA member, former PAPA President, and retired Chicago Police Officer, Ronald “Topper” Topczewski.

The organization also presented awards to two Civilian Persons of the Year, one PAPA member was honored with the inaugural PAPA President’s Award, and a Friend of Law Enforcement Award was bestowed on State Representative Stephanie Kifowit. Over 450 attendees joined the celebration, including Pamela Curran Smith, candidate for circuit court judge in Cook County’s 12th judicial subcircut.

Pamela shared this message after the event:

Congratulations to the Polish American Police Associations' law enforcement and civilian award winners and the organization's executive board on being sworn in for another term!

PAPA hosted a great banquet to commemorate the organization's 60th Anniversary. The stories of the award winning law enforcement officers' heroism was inspiring and, at times, heartbreaking. Thank you to each and every law enforcement officer who protects our homes, schools, and streets!
